A late start as Burridge (Burridge internal comms) headed to the Heath in Petersfield, rather than their home ground in Burridge, where the game was scheduled to take place! After a race back home, the game started 45 minutes late, by which time the Pumas were more than warmed up, which may have gone some way in giving the Pumas their strongest start in a game this season.
Nice tight bowling spell from Kasper gave an early wicket with a fantastic diving catch by Harvey, which broke up the strong opening pair. Alfie bowled dangerously to then pick up a wicket. Excellent accurate bowling by Harvey with a wicket and conceding only five runs. A brilliant moment to see Noah pick up a wicket with catch from Kasper. Harry’s impressive off spin (Pumas new secret weapon) ended the innings by finishing off the tail with three wickets! Special shout out to Sid who bowled excellently whilst playing with an injury. Ben and Thomas were excellent in the field making numerous crucial boundary stops. Pumas bowled out Burridge - a big achievement and a first this season.
Harry was unfortunately out for a duck, bowled by an outstanding bowler from the opposition. Kasper made 13 and Alfie batted very solidly to make an invaluable 30, after which he was retired. However, wickets tumbled thick and fast near the end with several run outs. Pumas ran out of overs and wickets as Ben was last man out.
Burridge were strong in the field playing with a great spirit. A close match and the best of the season so far!
