The Pumas’ match against Burridge took place away on a blisteringly hot evening, with a much appreciated breeze to make things bearable. Pumas won the toss and elected to field first.

Kasper and Sid set the tone with accurate and aggressive bowling. Early on Sid got a rare and stunning edge caught by wicket keeper Harry. There was undeniably strong batting from the opposition but snappy fielding from Noah and Thomas prevented their scoring from becoming too fluent. Despite a foot injury, Thomas got a thrilling caught and bowled immediately followed by a bowl out! Credit to Billy for stepping into the role of wicket keeper and keeping things tight. Despite some excellent bowling and fielding, a few too many loose balls and extras saw Burridge set an unassailable target of 138.

Harry opened the batting getting a boundary and good running from both him and Kasper before Harry was bowled out to the spinner. Kasper stuck in there with several other partners and got a total of 22. Some nice shots all round and the team defended their wicket really well against a very strong bowling attack. All a part-time coach can ever ask of a team is to play with good heart and look to improve. The boys did that with bells on!
