“It was Petersfield’s turn to take on Purbrook away on a blustery evening. We won the toss and chose to bat. Oscar Walker opened and produced a classic captain’s innings of 40 before carrying his bat. He was ably supported by Hari Walton with 19 and Charlie Wood with a superb 32 not out. We completed our 20 overs with 156 runs on the board.

Purbrook openers looked pretty handy and survived some hostile pace from Walton on his first over. Charlie Oatley came on to bowl and tempted Dan Poulton into a power drive and Walton took a truly epic catch at mid-off. Oatley then struck again the same over with the batsman skying one to Walton again who was alert in the field. From then on, it was a fairly foregone conclusion, but respect to the Hambledon U13’s who stepped in for some absentees and got their team to 108. Another amazing team effort and we face Hambledon again at home this Sunday.”
