“Havant won the toss and chose to field. Oscar Walker and Archie Maclean opened up the batting and we had a solid start. Oscar fell for 11 to some skilful spin from the Oppo and was replaced by Ted Morrison. Both Archie and Ted went onto 40 and retired paving the way for Ed Newland to deploy some power hitting. It’s a miracle we didn’t lose the match ball as it was dispatched countless times into the undergrowth. We completed the 20 overs for 147 runs having only lost 3 wickets.

Havant then padded up and came out to the crease. Oscar struck with a diamond duck bowling their opener with an evil in swinging yorker. The Havant Captain went on to retire for 40, but he never really had any support from his teammates. Rowan bowled a tidy spell picking up a wicket and Tom Kinally came on to strike a couple of times. We were electric in the field which kept the scoring down, subsequently their run rate began to snowball. Havant tried valiantly to knock off the target, but fell short by 41 runs.
