A fantastic, sunny evening on Monday welcomed Hambledon to Penns Place.
Adam Kidd captained the Panthers and won the toss. Electing to bowl first. A very tidy opening spell from Felix and Frank. Felix giving away no extras and going for only 4 runs from his 2 overs. Hambledon managed to get the runs ticking over in the middle overs but were pegged back by Zac and Adam in the final 4 overs. Adam taking 2 wickets to add to the earlier wicket from Grace. A special mention must go to the fielding, wicket keeping and communication between both. Monty stopping a number of well hit balls and returning swiftly to the keeper.
The batting opened with Felix and Frank. A solid start to the innings, giving away no wickets and scoring 9 runs. Finn and Grace were next up to face Hambledon's pace and accuracy, scoring 2 runs and losing 2 wickets. Next in were Harry and Monty. Monty managing to to score 7 runs with some quick thinking on over-throws. Finally Adam and Zac needing to score an improbable 36 runs managed a very respectable partnership of 12.
Ultimately, Hambledon's bowling was very accurate and quick. Giving away far fewer extras than the Panthers and managing an extra 2 wickets. The Panthers can be very proud of their fielding and look to build for the next match.
